Faun is a satyr like being who lives in a tree in Fairiewood. He snatches the Royal Chalice from Brandon after he first gets it, and runs off with it. At first Faun is unhelpful, but he does agree to trade for the chalice, and finally gives it back in exchange for an apple.
In the second game he is shown to be good friends with Zanthia, and often hangs around her house.
